Apex Trader Funding charges a one-time activation fee to turn a passed evaluation into a live funded account — on current accounts it is not a monthly subscription. Apex no longer publishes the amounts publicly (as of 1 October 2026 its site shows only “Pay activation fee”); on 26 August 2026 we read a flat $59 on Intraday Trail and $119–$159 on EOD Trail, but those may not be current. You pay it once, within 7 days of passing — or you can choose the “No Activation Fee” evaluation variant and pay $0 activation in exchange for a higher upfront eval price.

Update (1 October 2026): Apex no longer shows activation fee amounts publicly — its site now displays only “Pay activation fee” — so the fee figures on this page are the ones we read in August 2026 and should not be taken as current. Apex also sells a separate “No Activation Fee” option (1 October 2026: Intraday 25K $69, 50K $49, 100K $59, 150K $189; EOD 25K $109, 50K $119, 100K $159, 150K $249), and states that “Coupon codes CANNOT be applied to resets or PA activation fees.”
These figures come from productPickerConfig, the product data object Apex’s own checkout is built from — not from the rendered price panel, which returns inconsistent values between page loads. Intraday Trail activation is a flat $59 at every account size; EOD Trail is $119 / $139 / $149 / $159 by size.
Figures published elsewhere vary because the rendered panel is what most sources read. If a number here differs from what you see on Apex’s site, confirm it at checkout for your specific size and drawdown type.
Apex activation fee by account size (2026)
The activation fee depends on two choices: your drawdown type (Intraday Trail or EOD Trail) and your account size. These are the one-time Standard-variant fees we read on 26 August 2026, each paid once when you activate the funded account. Apex no longer publishes these amounts, so treat the table as history and confirm the fee at checkout:
| Account size | Intraday Trail | EOD Trail |
|---|---|---|
| 25K | $59 | $119 |
| 50K | $59 | $139 |
| 100K | $59 | $149 |
| 150K | $59 | $159 |
Is the Apex activation fee monthly or one-time?
On current Apex accounts the activation fee is a single one-time payment, not a recurring subscription. It is charged once, when you activate your Performance Account after passing, and it does not renew. It is non-refundable and non-transferable. This is a change from Apex’s pre-March-2026 model — see legacy accounts below.
When do you pay the Apex activation fee?
You pay it when you activate your funded Performance Account, which must happen within 7 calendar days of passing your evaluation. Your evaluation is marked passed after market close (about 6 PM ET) on the qualifying day. If you do not activate within the 7-day window, the passed account expires permanently and you would have to start a new evaluation.
How to pay a $0 activation fee at Apex
Apex sells a “No Activation Fee” version of every evaluation that sets the activation fee to $0. In exchange, the one-time evaluation price is higher, so the cost is simply moved to the front. On 1 October 2026 the No Activation Fee option was listed at Intraday 25K $69, 50K $49, 100K $59, 150K $189; EOD 25K $109, 50K $119, 100K $159, 150K $249 (as displayed on Apex’s site). Whether that is cheaper overall depends on how many evaluations you expect to buy before you pass — run both paths through our true-cost calculator before you decide.
Activation fee vs evaluation fee vs reset fee
These are three separate charges that are easy to confuse:
- Evaluation fee — what you pay upfront to start the challenge. This is the price that coupons like SAVENOW discount.
- Activation fee — the one-time charge in the table above, paid only after you pass, to go live. Evaluation coupons do not reduce it: “Coupon codes CANNOT be applied to resets or PA activation fees.”
- Reset fee — not applicable on current Apex accounts. There are no resets, so a failed or expired evaluation means buying a new one.
Legacy Apex accounts: the old monthly activation fee
Accounts bought before Apex’s March 2026 overhaul used a different model — a monthly activation fee. Legacy Performance Accounts charged about $85/month on Rithmic or $105/month on Tradovate, with a one-time “lifetime” option. Those terms persist only for existing legacy holders; every account Apex sells today uses a one-time fee (or the No Activation Fee option).
Apex activation fee FAQ
How much is the Apex Trader Funding activation fee?
It is a one-time fee paid when you activate a funded account on a Standard plan. Apex no longer publishes the amounts publicly: as of 1 October 2026 its site shows only “Pay activation fee”. On 26 August 2026 we read a flat $59 at every size on Intraday Trail and $119 (25K), $139 (50K), $149 (100K) and $159 (150K) on EOD Trail, but those figures may no longer be current. To avoid the fee, Apex sells a separate No Activation Fee option (1 October 2026: Intraday 25K $69, 50K $49, 100K $59, 150K $189; EOD 25K $109, 50K $119, 100K $159, 150K $249).
Is the Apex activation fee monthly or one-time?
On every account Apex sells today it is a single one-time payment, not a subscription — it does not renew and is non-refundable. Only legacy accounts bought before the March 2026 overhaul used a monthly activation fee (about $85/month on Rithmic or $105/month on Tradovate).
When do you pay the Apex activation fee?
You pay it when you activate your funded Performance Account, which must be done within 7 calendar days of passing your evaluation. The eval is marked passed after market close (about 6 PM ET); miss the 7-day window and the passed account expires permanently.
Can you avoid the Apex activation fee?
Yes. Apex sells a “No Activation Fee” variant of every evaluation that drops the activation fee to $0. The cost is front-loaded into a higher one-time evaluation price, so you pay more upfront and nothing at activation.
Does the SAVENOW coupon lower the Apex activation fee?
No. Apex states “Coupon codes CANNOT be applied to resets or PA activation fees.” Coupons such as SAVENOW discount the upfront evaluation price only. The activation fee is a separate charge paid later, when you go live, and is not reduced by evaluation coupons.
