Prop Data Lab is a reference site. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell anything directly, and we do not sell or share your personal data. This page sets out exactly what is collected when you visit, why, and how to stop it.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JFCXTY4YKC) to see which pages are read and roughly where readers come from. It sets cookies and records things like your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), device and browser type, referring site, and the pages you view. We look at this in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individuals.
- Security logs. Our security plugin (Wordfence) and our host record request data including IP addresses, so that abusive traffic and login attempts can be blocked. This is ordinary server-log activity and is kept for security purposes.
- Caching. We use LiteSpeed caching to serve pages quickly. It stores copies of pages, not personal information about you.
What we do not collect: we do not run comments, we do not require registration, we do not operate a newsletter sign-up on this site at present, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any payment details anywhere on it. We never handle your money or your trading account credentials.
Affiliate links
Some links to prop firms on this site are affiliate links, which is how the site is funded. If you click one, that firm can see the referral came from us and may set its own cookies or tracking on its own website. What happens after you leave this site is governed by that firm’s privacy policy, not ours. We receive reporting from affiliate programmes about clicks and any resulting sign-ups; that reporting is aggregate and commercial, and we do not receive your personal details from it.
Affiliate relationships never change what we publish. Our disclosure page sets out that commitment, and our methodology explains how figures are verified regardless of who pays.
Cookies, and how to refuse them
The cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics and from the caching and security layers described above. You can remove or block them at any time:
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, and blocking them will not stop you reading this site.
- Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely, across all sites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Most browsers also offer a “do not track” or tracking-protection setting, and private/incognito windows discard cookies when closed.
Who your data reaches
Only the processors we actually use: Google (analytics), our web host (server logs and delivery), and our security plugin (abuse prevention). We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not run advertising networks or social-media tracking pixels on this site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to request its deletion, or to object to its processing — for example under the UK/EU GDPR or under US state privacy laws such as the CCPA. Because we do not operate accounts, the practical answer for most visitors is that we hold no personal data about you beyond aggregate analytics and security logs. If you want analytics data about your visits removed, the Google opt-out above is the most direct route, since Google is the processor holding it.
Children
This site is aimed at adults evaluating proprietary trading firms. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. We treat that date the same way we treat the verification dates on our firm pages: it should tell you when the page was actually last checked, not when it was first written.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request relating to your data, can be raised through the contact details on our about page.
This policy describes our actual practice in plain English. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a lawyer’s review if you need one.
