Last updated: 2 October 2026 Is a prop firm “sale” really a sale? We checked archived copies of each firm’s homepage, roughly one a month from January 2025 to September 2026, and counted how often a discount banner was up. Every snapshot links to its Wayback Machine copy, and the banner text is quoted exactly in the CSV.
The short version
Two firms had a sale on in every snapshot for 21 months. Tradeify’s homepage advertised a percentage-off code in 21 of 21 readable monthly snapshots from January 2025 to September 2026. Take Profit Trader’s did in 20 of 20. Goat Funded Trader was close behind at 19 of 20 and Apex Trader Funding at 16 of 18. For these four, the “list price” is the price nobody is asked to pay.
Apex’s discount never dropped below 60%. Its banner ranged from 60% to 90% off, and said 90% in 7 of the 16 snapshots with a sale, including every one since April 2026. On 1 October 2026 the code was SAVENOW, “ANY SIZE EVALS UP TO 90% OFF”. It doesn’t apply to resets or the activation fee (see the True Cost Index).
“Limited time” is the default setting. Goat cycled through 11 different codes in 20 months (GFT2, SITEWIDE, SUMMER30, HOTBOGO, BOGO40, BOGO35…), nearly all labelled “Limited Time”. Tradeify used a new monthly code almost every month (JAN, FEB, SPRING, JUNE, AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV…), each with an end date. Take Profit Trader’s banner offered 40% off for life in 13 of 20 snapshots.
Some firms barely discount at all. Topstep showed no percentage-off banner in any of its 19 readable snapshots, and The5ers none in 20. FTMO ran a sale in 6 of 20, never more than 20% off: a 10-year anniversary deal (October–November 2025), Cyber Monday, a New Year flash sale, and 100K specials in February and September 2026.
Right now, 9 of the 10 firms advertise a sale. On 1–2 October 2026 every firm except Topstep showed a code or a sale price on its own site. Topstep has no public code, though it knocks $10–$30 a month off some accounts if you add a daily loss limit.

“Readable” means the archived page contains the firm’s normal homepage text, not a blank script shell or a bot-check page. Percentages are as written in the archived HTML. Some sites update the banner with a script after the page loads, so a visitor might have seen a different number. Tradeify’s raw HTML on 2 October 2026 still said “ENDS 31 AUGUST” while its live script showed 15 October. Treat the counts as banners seen in the archive, not checkout prices.

Methodology
We used the Wayback Machine’s CDX index to pick about one capture a month of each firm’s homepage, then downloaded the raw archived HTML. We stripped scripts and styles and searched the visible text for a percentage followed by “off” or “discount”, then recorded the first match (the banner), the code next to it and about 200 characters of surrounding text. A snapshot counts as “on sale” only if that text is there. We reviewed every match by hand. Snapshots with no readable homepage text are counted separately and never as “no sale”.
Limits: a monthly snapshot can’t show how many days a sale ran, only whether one was up when the archive visited. Sales can be shown only by script, or only at checkout, and those would be missed. So for Topstep, The5ers and FTMO, “no banner” means none in the archived HTML, which isn’t proof there was no deal. The5ers tends to advertise fixed sale prices (“$100K For $149”) rather than a percentage. Common questions
Are prop firm discounts real?
The codes work, but for several firms the 'sale' never ends. In monthly archived snapshots from January 2025 to September 2026, Tradeify's homepage showed a percentage-off code in 21 of 21 readable snapshots, Take Profit Trader in 20 of 20, Goat Funded Trader in 19 of 20 and Apex in 16 of 18. For those firms the list price works more like an anchor than a price.
How often is Apex Trader Funding on sale?
In 16 of 18 readable homepage snapshots from January 2025 to August 2026, with banner discounts from 60% to 90%. Every snapshot since April 2026 said up to 90% off. Coupons don't apply to Apex resets or activation fees.
Does Topstep have discount codes?
Topstep showed no percentage-off banner on its homepage in any of 19 readable archived snapshots from January 2025 to September 2026, and had no public code on 2 October 2026. Its help center lists a 15% referral discount and $10-$30 off No Activation Fee Combines if you add a daily loss limit.
Should I wait for a better prop firm discount?
For firms that are almost always on sale, waiting rarely gets you much. The discount moves between levels (e.g. Take Profit Trader 30%, 40% or 50%; Goat 25% to 50%) rather than appearing and disappearing. Check the firm's own site on the day, and remember codes often exclude resets and activation fees.
